May 8, 2006 · For my 81 NT Scrambler axle upgrade I chose to use a NT FSJ centered Dana 44 rear axle (only ¾”-1” wider than a Scout II rear axle) and a narrowed WT Cherokee axle in front. 5" pattern and buy a matched set of axles, such as the 77. 5 inch tire is really not that big.
